A bombshell report from the Center for Immigration Studies reveals that illegal aliens are receiving more welfare benefits than U.S.-born citizens, fueling outrage as Democrats champion open-border policies.
Meanwhile, some Democratic lawmakers and activist judges are facing prison time for obstructing President Trump's hardline immigration enforcement.
According to The Center for Immigration Studies' analysis of the 2022 Survey of Income and Program Participation, illegal immigrants in the United States are accessing welfare benefits at significantly higher rates than American citizens.
This is why Democrats are freaking out about Medicaid… Do you feel sick yet?

The data paints a stark picture:
“The 2022 SIPP indicates that 54 percent of households headed by immigrants — naturalized citizens, legal residents, and illegal immigrants — used one or more major welfare programs. This compares to 39 percent for U.S.-born households. The rate is 59 percent for non-citizen households (e.g., green card holders and illegal immigrants),” CIS notes in the survey published in December 2023.
CIS found that illegal aliens are exceedingly reliant on government programs across multiple categories:
Compared to households headed by the U.S.-born, immigrant-headed households have especially high use of food programs (36 percent vs. 25 percent for the U.S.-born), Medicaid (37 percent vs. 25 percent for the U.S.-born), and the Earned Income Tax Credit (16 percent vs. 12 percent for the U.S.-born).
This disparity persists despite high employment rates among illegal immigrants, with 94 percent of their households having at least one worker, compared to 73 percent for U.S.-born households.
The CIS report emphasizes that this is not due to fraud but rather systemic access:
Illegal immigrants can receive welfare on behalf of U.S.-born children, and illegal immigrant children can receive school lunch/breakfast and WIC directly. A number of states provide Medicaid to some illegal adults and children, and a few provide SNAP. Several million illegal immigrants also have work authorization (e.g., DACA, TPS, and some asylum applicants) allowing receipt of the EITC.
The report underscores that even excluding less costly programs like school meals, 46 percent of immigrant households still use welfare, compared to 33 percent of U.S.-born households, highlighting a systemic drain on resources.
Meanwhile, several prominent Democrats are facing severe legal repercussions for protecting illegal immigrants from federal authorities as President Trump’s administration ramps up immigration enforcement.
In New York, Rep. LaMonica McIver, a mayoral candidate, was arrested for obstructing ICE agents during a raid targeting illegal immigrants with criminal records.

Authorities claim McIver physically interfered with officers, leading to charges of obstruction of justice. McIver is currently facing a three-count indictment related to the incident at a federal immigration detention center and could face a maximum penalty of 17 years in prison if convicted.
In Wisconsin, Superior Court Judge Hannah Dugan faces felony charges for attempting to block the arrest of an illegal immigrant convicted of drug trafficking, escalating tensions between local officials and federal authorities.

Hagan was indicted on May 13 on charges of concealing a person from arrest and obstruction of proceedings, facing up to six years in prison and a fine of up to $350,000 if convicted.
On June 17, New York City Comptroller and mayoral candidate Brad Lander was arrested by ICE agents outside a federal immigration courthouse.

The arrest occurred while he was escorting an illegal alien from the courthouse, and he was subsequently released after a few hours.
Other Democrats, such as Chicago City Council member Byron Sigcho-Lopez and Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao, have also been indicted for allegedly organizing violent protests against ICE operations, charged with obstruction and related offenses.
These arrests underscore the Trump administration’s aggressive stance, with Bondi warning, “We will find you,” to those who harbor illegal immigrants.
Despite these legal challenges, many Democrats continue to advocate for policies that encourage illegal immigration. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has lauded states like New York and California for expanding Medicaid and SNAP benefits to illegal immigrants, calling it a "humanitarian necessity."
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has fiercely opposed Trump’s "Big Beautiful Bill," which slashes Medicaid for non-citizens, labeling it "heartless."
The CIS report suggests these policies exacerbate the welfare gap, noting:
The high welfare use of immigrant households is not explained by an unwillingness to work… Immigrants’ higher welfare use relative to the U.S.-born is partly, but only partly, explained by the larger share with modest education levels, their resulting lower incomes, and the greater percentage of immigrant households with children.
Democrats are hell-bent on turning America into a free-for-all welfare state for illegal aliens, and they’re not even hiding it anymore.
They’re getting food stamps, Medicaid, cash handouts, you name it, while hardworking Americans scrape by.
As illegal immigrants outpace citizens in welfare use and Democrats face legal fallout for defiance, the path forward remains fraught.
Can America find a balance between security and humanity?
