'12 Day War' Over: Trump Declares End to Israel-Iran Conflict in Historic Deal, No U.S. Casualties

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump declared Monday evening that Israel and Iran have agreed to a "complete and total" ceasefire, set to begin at 7:00 A.M. Israel time on Tuesday, potentially halting a conflict that threatened to engulf the region.

The announcement follows a tense 12-day period of escalating military actions, including a U.S. strike on Iranian nuclear facilities and a retaliatory Iranian missile attack on an American base on the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, which reported no casualties.

The ceasefire will unfold in phases, President Trump announced via a Truth Social post: Iran will initiate the cessation of hostilities at 12:00 a.m. ET Tuesday, followed by Israel 12 hours later at 12:00 p.m. ET. By midnight Wednesday, the conflict, dubbed by Trump as “The 12 Day War,” is expected to officially end.

The commander-in-chief to heralded the agreement, declaring, "CONGRATULATIONS WORLD, IT'S TIME FOR PEACE!"

"CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE!" Trump continued in another Truth Social post. "It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED! Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL."

Trump praised both the Islamic and Jewish nations, adding, "On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, ‘THE 12 DAY WAR.’ This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!"

The announcement follows a carefully choreographed Iranian response to U.S. strikes on three nuclear targets, which President Trump described as causing “monumental damage” to Iran’s nuclear program.

He noted that Iran’s limited strike on the Al Udeid base was communicated in advance and resulted in no American casualties, prompting him to urge Israel to halt its operations in exchange for Iran’s commitment to de-escalation.

Seconds after Trump announced the ceasefire, Vice President JD Vance appeared on Fox News underscoring the strategic success of the U.S. and its allies.

"First of all, the president, without, knock on wood, having a single American casualty, obliterated the Iranian nuclear program. We are now in a place where we weren’t a week ago. A week ago, Iran was very close to having a nuclear weapon. Now, Iran is incapable of building a nuclear weapon with the equipment they had because we destroyed it. So that’s a very, very big thing," Vance told host Brett Baier.

"Now, what that means, I think, is we have to talk to Iran, and of course to Israel, about what the future holds because, while we have obliterated the nuclear Iranian program, our hope and our exception is they’re not gonna try to rebuild that program," the vice president continued. "That’s what the president is really trying to figure out here, is to build a long-term settlement here to where we can have peace in the region, where our regional allies, and of course the American people most importantly can be secured, but where we can ensure that the destruction of the Iranian nuclear program that has already happened is not something they try to rebuild.

"It is a thing to celebrate. I can't emphasize this enough," Vance said. "We have destroyed the Iranian nuclear program. Zero Americans have died. That's an amazing, amazing thing. Americans whether Democrats or Republicans, we should be celebrating that."

WATCH:

Neither Israel nor Iran has officially confirmed the ceasefire terms, leaving looming uncertainty about whether both nations will adhere to the agreement.

The conflict, which began earlier this month with Israel’s preemptive strikes on Iranian targets, followed by U.S. involvement over the weekend, had raised fears of World War III.

The ceasefire that, if it holds, could stop a war that was spiraling toward catastrophe.

But let’s be clear: this isn’t just about peace and handshakes. This is about power, strategy, and America asserting its will.

President Trump, love him or hate him, has pulled off what the so-called experts said was impossible: staring down Iran, backing Israel, and walking away with no American blood spilled.

The question now is, will this deal stick, or is this just a pause before the next round?

One thing’s for sure—the Middle East is a powder keg, and we’re not out of the woods yet.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
