The world’s been watching Joe Biden’s cognitive nosedive for years, but here comes Bill Clinton, the eternal Democrat cheerleader, trotting out the same tired playbook: deny, deflect, and dodge the obvious.
It’s almost cute how he thinks we’re all still buying it.
Clinton is dismissing explosive allegations of Joe Biden’s cognitive decline, insisting the 82-year-old was fully capable of leading the nation.
In a CBS Sunday Morning interview on Sunday, Clinton rejected claims from the book "Original Sin" by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, which alleges Biden’s cognitive faculties deteriorated to the point that a "politburo" of aides and family members effectively ran the White House.
"I saw President Biden not very long ago, and I thought he was in good shape,” Clinton, 78, told CBS correspondent Tracy Smith. "I had never seen him and walked away thinking, he can’t do this anymore."
Clinton admitted he hadn’t read the book, which details accounts from White House insiders claiming Biden struggled to maintain focus and that his administration concealed his decline during his reelection bid.
"I didn’t want to because he’s not president anymore, and I think he did a good job," Clinton said. "I think we are facing challenges today with our president in our history. Some people are trying to use this as a way to blame him for the fact that Trump was reelected."
The former president acknowledged only one concern about Biden’s tenure: whether anyone could handle the presidency’s demands until age 86.
"The only concern I thought he had to deal with was, could anybody do that job until they were 86?" Clinton said. "We’d had several long talks. He was always on top of his briefs."
"Original Sin," published in May, alleges Biden’s inner circle, including First Lady Jill Biden and son Hunter, wielded significant control as the president became a figurehead.
The book’s release coincided with Biden’s diagnosis of aggressive prostate cancer and followed his July withdrawal from the presidential race after a disastrous debate performance against Donald Trump.
Biden’s allies have pushed back.
"The people who wrote those books were not in the White House with us, and they didn’t see how hard Joe worked every single day," Jill Biden told 'The View' in May.
Biden himself dismissed the authors, Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson's claims in his first appearance since announcing his cancer diagnosis on Friday, boasting he could "beat the hell out of' them."

The Clinton classic: stick to the script, ignore the evidence, and pretend everything’s fine.
Biden’s decline wasn’t just obvious—it was a national embarrassment and national security threat, and no amount of Clinton’s smooth-talking can erase the footage of Joe stumbling through speeches or freezing mid-sentence.
The Democrats knew, the media knew, and the voters knew, which is why Trump’s back in the White House.
But Bill? He’s still out here shilling for the machine – and let’s not kid ourselves—did he ever once admit Hillary’s own trainwreck of a campaign? Of course not.
