Bowser Bows to Trump: D.C. Mayor Orders Police to Work with Feds Forever After President’s Crime Crackdown

Democrats clutched their pearls when President Trump sent in the feds to tame Washington, D.C.’s spiraling crime.

They howled about overreach, militarization, and the end of democracy as we know it.

But now, DC's Democrat Mayor Muriel Bowser, darling of the D.C. left, has done a jaw-dropping 180, proving Trump’s iron-fisted approach worked — and she wants more of it. Hypocrisy, meet reality.

Bowser issued Mayor’s Order 2025-090 on Tuesday, directing the Metropolitan Police Department to coordinate with federal law enforcement indefinitely, extending the work of the Safe and Beautiful Emergency Operations Center.

The mayor's order follows President Trump’s August 2025 invocation of Section 740 of the D.C. Home Rule Act, which placed the MPD under federal control and activated the National Guard.

The result? A 22 percent drop in violent crime in just one week, per city data.

"Today, I issued Mayor’s Order 2025-090 to provide the pathway forward beyond the Presidential emergency," Bowser announced on X, linking to the full text.

The order ensures the SBEOC will "manage the District’s response, coordinate centralized communications, and ensure coordination with federal law enforcement to the maximum extent allowable by law within the District," according to a press release from her office.

Federal partners, including the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, and Secret Service, must adhere to protocols like identifying themselves clearly during arrests to maintain community trust.

Bowser’s move sidesteps the 30-day limit of Trump’s federalization, set to expire next week, as reported by The Washington Post.

Her executive order avoids a potential showdown by cementing federal-local cooperation without requiring Trump to declare an ongoing emergency.

"I appreciate the surge of officers that enhance what the MPD has been able to accomplish,” Bowser said, noting that "neighborhoods feel safer and are safer" due to the crime reduction.

This is a seismic shift.

Democrats vilified Trump’s deployment of federal forces, decrying it as authoritarian.

Yet Bowser’s order acknowledges the undeniable: Trump’s strategy delivered.

The success in D.C. could ripple nationwide.

With crime plaguing cities like San Francisco, New York and Chicago, Bowser’s pivot hands Trump a playbook—and a political victory.

If the nation’s capital can be tamed, why not elsewhere?

The left’s narrative that federal intervention is inherently oppressive just crumbled under the weight of results.

So here we are, folks. The same Democrats who screamed bloody murder when Trump rolled in with the National Guard are now eating crow, and Bowser’s serving it up with a smile.

While the chattering class scrambles to rewrite their talking points, D.C. residents are breathing easier.

And somewhere, Trump’s probably grinning, ready to take this show on the road. The Democrat-manufactured ghettos across America better buckle up.
