Earlier this evening, Cracker Barrel released a statement acknowledging widespread customer feedback regarding its recently updated logo, announcing that the company will reverse its decision and keep the iconic “Old Timer” logo.

In their statement, Cracker Barrel wrote:

We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen, and we have. Our new logo is going away and our “Old Timer” will remain.

At Cracker Barrel, it’s always been – and always will be – about serving up delicious food, warm welcomes, and the kind of country hospitality that feels like family. As a proud American institution, our 70,000 hardworking employees look forward to welcoming you to our table soon.

Cracker Barrel have been under fire in a major way ever since they unveiled their updated logo which ditched the old timer and the barrel, hallmarks of the beloved restaurant chain.

Cracker Barrel came under heavy fire online after unveiling its redesigned logo, which removed the classic Old Timer figure and the wooden barrel — hallmarks of the beloved Southern restaurant chain.

The backlash was swift, with large accounts on right-wing Twitter accusing the company of “going woke.” The outrage coincided with a nearly 10% drop in Cracker Barrel’s stock price, wiping out an estimated $100 million in market value.

The story hit its peak yesterday when President Trump publicly urged Cracker Barrel to reverse its decision, calling it “a billion dollars’ worth of free publicity.”

Following the reversal, Trump congratulated the company:

Since the announcement, Cracker Barrel’s stock price has rebounded and is projected to give the company a much-needed boost heading into the next quarter.
