A Florida registered nurse ignited fierce backlash by publicly vowing to withhold anesthesia from supporters of President Donald Trump, prompting Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier to call for disciplinary action against his license.

Erik Martindale, a University of Miami graduate and registered nurse, posted on Facebook that he would deny anesthesia services to MAGA patients during surgeries or procedures.

"I will not perform anesthesia for any surgeries or procedures for MAGA," Martindale wrote in the now-deleted post. "It is my right, it is my ethical oath, and I stand behind my education. I own all of my businesses and I can refuse anyone!"

The declaration drew widespread condemnation for violating core medical ethics, including the principle of non-discrimination in patient care.

Critics argued the statement contradicted the Hippocratic Oath's directive to do no harm and treat patients impartially.

Martindale subsequently deleted the post and claimed his accounts were hacked.

"My FB, FB Messenger and IG have been hacked," he stated in a follow-up message, without providing evidence or explaining the motive for any alleged breach.

Uthmeier swiftly responded on social media, signaling potential revocation of Martindale's license.

"Here we go again…Paging@FLNursingBoard!" Uthmeier wrote.

The episode echoes a recent case involving Lexie Lawler, a former labor and delivery nurse at Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital.

Lawler was fired after posting graphic wishes of severe injury during childbirth on White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, stating: "I hope you fking rip from bow to stern and never sh*t normally again, you ct."

These incidents expose a toxic politicization of healthcare that threatens patient safety and professional integrity.

When nurses weaponize their positions against ideological foes, trust in medicine erodes, and vulnerable Americans face unnecessary risks.
