Justice Department Files Explosive Misconduct Complaint Against D.C. Judge Boasberg Over Anti-Trump Bias

The U.S. Department of Justice is confronting what may be the most dangerous weaponization of power in our nation—not on the streets, not in the halls of Congress, but in the courtrooms across America.

A judicial coup, some are calling it, where far-left judges are accused of waging a calculated war against the Trump administration, threatening the very foundation of our constitutional republic.

The DOJ, under Attorney General Pam Bondi, filed a formal misconduct complaint Monday against U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, accusing the Obama-appointed judge of making improper public comments that revealed bias against the Trump administration.

The complaint demands Boasberg’s immediate removal from a high-profile deportation case and calls for a formal investigation into his actions, potentially leading to public reprimand or even impeachment.

The controversy stems from a March 2025 judicial conference where Boasberg, the D.C. District Court’s chief judge, reportedly expressed concerns to Chief Justice John Roberts and other judges that the Trump administration might "disregard rulings of federal courts leading to a constitutional crisis," according to a memorandum exclusively obtained by The Federalist.

The memo, summarizing a "working breakfast" at the conference, detailed Boasberg’s remarks, which named a defendant in pending lawsuits—a move the Justice Department calls a "serious breach” of judicial ethics.

"Judge Boasberg’s actions have harmed the integrity and public confidence in the judiciary," wrote Justice Department Chief of Staff Chad Mizelle in the five-page complaint. "Swift, visible action will reinforce the judiciary’s institutional integrity by showing that judges are held to the same standards they enforce and deter comparable misconduct."

The complaint, sent to Sri Srinivasan, chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, alleges Boasberg violated ethical obligations to promote public confidence in the judiciary and refrain from commenting on pending cases.

Srinivasan has the authority to dismiss the complaint, find corrective action sufficient, or appoint a committee for further investigation.

"These comments have undermined the integrity of the judiciary, and we will not stand for that,” Bondi declared in a post on X.

Boasberg’s remarks have drawn intense scrutiny, particularly for his handling of a challenge to President Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act, invoked in March 2025 to deport alleged Venezuelan gang members to a megaprison in El Salvador.

Days after the judicial conference, Boasberg was assigned the case and ordered airborne deportation flights to turn around midair.

The Supreme Court later overturned his ruling, citing improper venue, but Boasberg accused the Trump administration of willfully violating his order and moved toward holding officials in contempt.

An appeals court has since paused those proceedings.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, commenting earlier this month, condemned the broader pattern of judicial behavior.

"A newly revealed memo confirms that at least some federal judges were predisposed against the Trump administration. This is a serious breach of the judicial oath and a threat to the rule of law. Every litigant, regardless of politics, is entitled to a fair forum," Blanche warned.

The Federalist’s report highlighted Boasberg’s discussion as part of a broader trend among D.C. Circuit Court judges, including Beryl Howell, Tanya Chutkan, and Amy Berman Jackson, who have consistently ruled against Trump in cases involving deportations and executive branch firings.

These are the same judges who sentenced January 6 defendants to inordinately lengthy prison sentences – in some cases, over a decade in prison for what typically qualify as standard misdemeanor offenses.

Chief Justice Roberts, according to the memo, responded to Boasberg’s concerns by expressing hope that no constitutional crisis would materialize, noting, "My interactions with the President have been civil and respectful, such as the President thanking me at the State of the Union address for administering the oath."

The Justice Department’s complaint escalates tensions between the Trump administration and the judiciary, with President Trump previously calling for Boasberg’s impeachment over his handling of the deportation case.

The complaint seeks Boasberg’s immediate recusal and suggests severe consequences if an investigation finds "willful misconduct."

The deep state judiciary, led by activist judges like James Boasberg, has been staging a full-on coup against President Trump and his supporters, spitting in the face of the American people.

They’re not just ruling from the bench; they’re weaponizing the gavel to sabotage our duly elected leader! This isn’t justice—it’s tyranny in black robes.
