Rand Paul Vows to Drag Fauci Before Congress For Destroying Records and Lying

Sen. Rand Paul, R-KY, intensified his pursuit of former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, alleging criminal misconduct, record destruction and perjury.

"We've discovered that Anthony Fauci was destroying federal records, was encouraging other people to destroy federal records. That is a crime," the GOP lawmaker told Fox Business on Wednesday. "He testified to the House a year ago and said he wasn't [destroying records]. That's a crime to perjure himself."

Paul vowed to subpoena Fauci if he refuses to testify voluntarily this fall.

Newly surfaced emails, as reported by the Washington Times on September 10, 2025, reveal Fauci urging NIH staff to delete messages, directly contradicting his 2024 sworn denials under oath.

Fauci was preemptively pardoned by the Biden administration in 2024, which could shield him from perjury charges.

Paul also questioned the validity of Fauci’s pardon, granted by President Biden via autopen, suggesting it may not hold legally.

"I have encouraged the Trump administration—that they should prosecute this case and challenge the autopen. I don't think the autopen is sufficient. I also think there was so many pardons that I don't think Biden was aware of all the people he did pardon," Paul continued. "There is also not a direct link from the person running the autopen to the president. The person that was running the autopen never spoke to the president. So, I wonder about the line of communication – whether these were valid.

"When Obama did this with legislation, he said, 'I'll be back in a few days and I'll sign it to make sure it's legitimate. A president's signature on something as important as legislation or a pardon is absolutely required,” he added.

The senator further criticized COVID vaccine policies, asserting, “The scientific evidence shows that the risks of taking the COVID vaccine for children exceed the benefits – and the scientific evidence is abundant on this. Kids are not dying – healthy kids were not dying in 2020, but they are particularly not dying now. The disease has gotten less dangerous, and we have developed immunity to this disease among the community. The need for the vaccine needs to be honest."

Paul has long accused Fauci of misleading Congress, leading to multiple hearings and a formal criminal referral to both the Biden and Trump Justice Departments.

The case against Fauci stems from allegations he obscured NIH’s involvement in gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and mismanaged pandemic response data.

Millions of deaths later, Americans are dropping suddenly after complying with COVID vaccine mandates, their trust betrayed by a system more interested in control than truth.

We're still holding our breath for justice while Congress plays its usual games of political theater.

The American people deserve justice, not another round of empty threats and forgotten subpoenas.

Will Paul finally deliver, or will Fauci's legacy remain untouchable, a monument to the impunity of the elite?
