A Rasmussen Reports poll delivers a stunning verdict: a majority of U.S. voters stand firmly behind President Donald Trump’s bold move to deploy National Guard troops to shield ICE facilities from violent unrest.
The survey also reveals deep public frustration with activist judges accused of waging a "legal insurrection" against the administration’s immigration crackdown.
Conducted on October 7-9, 2025, among 1,184 likely U.S. voters, the survey shows 52 percent support Trump’s use of National Guard troops to protect Immigration and Customs Enforcement facilities, with 39 percent strongly backing the policy.
Meanwhile, 43 percent oppose the deployments, including 33 percent who strongly disapprove.
On the broader immigration fight, 53 percent approve of Trump’s program to deport illegal immigrants, while 43 percent do not.
The poll carries a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points with a 95 percent confidence level.
Voters also expressed outrage at judicial overreach.
When asked, "Do you agree or disagree with this statement: ‘We have seen, over the last nine months, an ongoing legal insurrection in which district court judges … have issued rulings that are flagrantly unlawful and unconstitutional’?" 56 percet agreed, while 31 percent disagreed, according to Rasmussen Reports.
Trump’s push to secure ICE operations has sparked fierce legal battles.
In Illinois, a federal appeals court ruled Saturday that Trump can federalize the National Guard but cannot deploy them within the state, partially upholding a temporary restraining order by U.S. District Judge April Perry, a Biden appointee.
In Oregon, U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut issued an emergency order Sunday blocking 300 California National Guard troops from entering Portland, citing violations of federal law and the Tenth Amendment.
California Governor Gavin Newsom, in a lawsuit, called Trump’s actions "a breathtaking abuse of the law and power."
The partisan divide is stark: 86 percent of Republicans support Trump’s deportation program, while 68 percent of Democrats oppose it.
Legal challenges from Democratic governors and city officials continue to hinder Trump’s efforts to protect ICE agents and facilities in cities like Chicago, Portland, and Los Angeles.
The silent majority stands with Trump, demanding an end to the chaos and a return to order.
