The Video of a Hijab-Wearing NYPD Officer Everyone’s Talking About [WATCH]

Welcome to the new normal, America. Where the badge of law enforcement is overshadowed by the badge of submission. Where the oath to protect and serve is being rewritten to protect and submit to Sharia law.

A video circulating online captures a New York Police Department officer, Sgt. Aml El Sokary, demonstrating how to wear a hijab while in full uniform at an event celebrating World Hijab Day.

The officer, the first NYPD officer to wear a hijab, is seen adjusting the garment, explaining its placement over the head and face, and emphasizing its significance as a symbol of empowerment.

The event, recognized by the NYPD since at least 2025, is part of a broader initiative to normalize Islamic identity within the department, which has established over 100 designated Muslim prayer spaces and hosted annual iftar gatherings since 2018.

This demonstration occurs amidst growing concerns about the Islamization of America, highlighted by the recent electoral victory of Zohran Mamdani, New York City's first Muslim mayor.

Mamdani, 34, won a remarkable upset against former Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa, becoming the city's youngest mayor since 1892 and its first mayor born in Africa.

His victory, however, has raised alarms among critics who see it as a step toward the institutionalization of Islamic influence in American governance.

Mamdani's socialist platform and policies are perceived by some as aligning with broader trends of accommodating Islamic practices, which they argue could undermine traditional American values.

The video's circulation has sparked a heated debate, with some viewing it as a sign of hypocrisy. According to Islamic teachings, women are generally encouraged to remain at home and not display themselves publicly, as stated in the Quran. (33:33)

This perspective raises questions about the consistency of Islamic principles with the demands of modern Western society.

As the NYPD continues to accommodate religious practices, including allowing hijabs in uniform and permitting beards and turbans for Sikh and Muslim officers, the department's identity and mission are increasingly scrutinized.

The normalization of such practices is seen by some as part of a larger cultural shift, one that prioritizes religious accommodation over traditional law enforcement norms.

This is not just about a piece of cloth. It's about the erosion of our institutions, the rewriting of our laws, and the submission of our culture.
