The United States is diving into a red-hot economic turnaround that’s got the Biden era’s failures in the rearview mirror.

Inflation has been tamed, dropping to a four-year low of 2.3% in April 2025, according to the Consumer Price Index.

Under President Donald J. Trump’s leadership, the economy is roaring back, and Americans are finally catching a break after years of Biden’s economic misery.

Under the Biden administration, Americans were crushed by a cost-of-living crisis that drove families to their knees.

By mid-2022, inflation soared to a crippling 9.1%, gutting paychecks and forcing nearly two-thirds of Americans to turn to food banks to feed their families.

A 2022 report from Feeding America noted that 65% of surveyed households relied on food pantries or banks at least once a month as grocery prices skyrocketed.

A Gallup poll from late 2022 confirmed the pain, with 63% of Americans saying they struggled to afford basic necessities like food and gas, a sharp rise from prior years.

The Biden economy left workers’ real wages stagnant or declining, with the Economic Policy Institute reporting a 1.7% drop in real hourly earnings from 2021 to 2023.

Families weren’t just tightening belts — they were breaking.

"We’re going to bring back the American Dream," Trump vowed at a 2024 rally. "Inflation will be stopped dead in its tracks, and your paychecks will stretch further than ever!”

Trump doubled down on his commitment to continue lowering skyrocketing prices for Americans, declaring on X in April, "Oil prices are down, interest rates are down (the slow moving Fed should cut rates!), food prices are down, there is NO INFLATION, and the long time abused USA is bringing in Billions of Dollars a week from the abusing countries on Tariffs that are already in place."

"This is despite the fact that the biggest abuser of them all, China, whose markets are crashing, just raised its Tariffs by 34%, on top of its long term ridiculously high Tariffs (Plus!), not acknowledging my warning for abusing countries not to retaliate," the president wrote. "They’ve made enough, for decades, taking advantage of the Good OL’ USA! Our past “leaders” are to blame for allowing this, and so much else, to happen to our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

The numbers back him up: April 2025’s CPI shows grocery prices dropping for the first time in five years, gas prices down 11.8% year-over-year, and egg prices plummeting 12.7% in a single month.

Real wages? Up 1.9% and climbing.

The Federal Reserve’s preferred gauge, the PCE index, confirms the trend, hitting its lowest level since March 2021 with a mere 0.1% monthly rise.

Amid tariff concerns, Trump’s team negotiated a deal with China to cap reciprocal tariffs at 10%, CNBC reports, keeping prices in check while protecting American jobs.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt hailed the data on X, noting, "President Donald J. Trump’s economic agenda is working: inflation is down, income is up, and the trade deficit just fell by the largest amount on record."

"Today’s economic report follows multiple robust jobs reports, below-expectation inflation reports, and a strong bump in consumer confidence," Leavitt wrote. "President Trump continues to prove doomsday 'experts' wrong with his America First economic agenda that’s delivering for the American people."

Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer added, “Families are finally keeping more of their paychecks, thanks to@POTUS!”

Biden’s reckless spending and energy policies drove America into an economic ditch, leaving families scavenging for scraps.
