BREAKING: Trump Slaps $100,000 Fee on H-1B Visas to Curb Abuse

President Donald Trump will reportedly sign a proclamation today, imposing a $100,000 fee on H-1B visa applications to curb rampant abuse, a White House official confirmed.

The move targets a program exploited by employers to displace American workers with cheaper foreign labor.

The official, speaking anonymously, told Bloomberg Friday the fee aims to restrict entry unless paid, addressing a system that has suppressed U.S. wages and discouraged Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics career paths, such as Software Developers, Data Analysts, Biomedical Engineers and Environmental Scientists.

Trump will also direct the Labor Secretary to revise prevailing-wage levels for H-1B visas.

Higher wages are intended to deter companies from undercutting American workers.

The technology sector, heavily reliant on H-1Bs, faces significant impact.

Current fees include $215 for lottery registration and $780 for Form I-129, a stark contrast to the new $100,000 charge.

A White House fact sheet labels the replacement of American workers with low-paid foreign labor a national security threat.

Staffing and outsourcing firms, capturing nearly half of the 85,000 annual H-1B visas, exploit lottery loopholes, flooding entries to secure approvals.

Unlike major tech giants, these firms often hire lower-wage workers indirectly.

The policy aligns with Trump’s broader immigration crackdown, including fee hikes for work permits and asylum applications.

Revenue will fund new detention centers, thousands of immigration agents, and expanded border wall construction.

The proclamation follows increased scrutiny of H-1Bs in 2025, fueled by pressure on Trump, a past program supporter, to tighten restrictions.

America’s workers deserve better than being sidelined by corporate greed and a broken visa system.

Trump’s bold stroke exposes the H-1B scam for what it is—a betrayal of the American dream, flooding our tech sector with foreign labor while our graduates scramble for scraps.

Time to put our people first, no apologies, no retreat.
