Trump Vows to Ban Mail-In Ballots, Voting Machines Ahead of 2026 Midterms

President Donald Trump is dropping a bombshell that could shake the very foundation of our elections.

In a bold move, he’s vowing to lead a movement to obliterate mail-in ballots and those so-called “inaccurate” voting machines, calling them a disaster for democracy.

Trump announced via his social media platform, Truth Social, a plan to lead a "movement" to eliminate mail-in ballots and voting machines, alleging without evidence that they enable voter fraud.

"I am going to lead a movement to get rid of MAIL-IN BALLOTS, and also, while we're at it, Highly 'Inaccurate,' Very Expensive, and Seriously Controversial VOTING MACHINES, which cost Ten Times more than accurate and sophisticated Watermark Paper, which is faster, and leaves NO DOUBT, at the end of the evening, as to who WON, and who LOST, the Election," Trump wrote.

He plans to initiate this effort with an executive order ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, though legal challenges are anticipated.

Trump asserted federal authority over state election processes, stating, "Remember, the States are merely an 'agent' for the Federal Government in counting and tabulating the votes. They must do what the Federal Government, as represented by the President of the United States, tells them, FOR THE GOOD OF OUR COUNTRY, to do."

However, the Constitution grants state legislatures the power to determine election procedures, subject to congressional regulation.

The president’s claims echo his long-standing skepticism of mail-in voting, which is prominently attributed to his 2020 election loss despite no evidence of widespread fraud.

Studies indicate mail-in voting fraud is rare, with safeguards like signature requirements and barcode tracking in place.

Trump’s recent comments follow a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska, last week.

"Vladimir Putin, smart guy, said you can't have an honest election with mail-in voting," the president claimed in a Fox News interview with Sean Hannity. "There's not a country in the world that uses it now"—a statement contradicted by Russia’s own use of mail-in voting.

The U.S. State Department criticized Russia’s 2024 election, won by Putin in a landslide, as occurring "in an environment of intense political repression that has marginalized or completely silenced all independent voices."

Fiona Hill, Trump’s former top adviser, appeared on CBS News’ "Face the Nation" on Sunday, warning, "This is Vladimir Putin, as usual, trying to manipulate U.S. domestic politics. He wants to sow chaos in the American electoral system ahead of the midterms."

Trump’s push against voting machines follows legal battles involving Dominion Voting Systems, which sued Fox News into a $787 million settlement in 2023 over false claims of election rigging.

Dominion also sued Newsmax and One America News Network, settling with both in 2024 for undisclosed amounts to silence their narratives.

Smartmatic currently has an ongoing lawsuit against Fox News.

Trump reiterated his stance, writing, "THE MAIL-IN BALLOT HOAX, USING VOTING MACHINES THAT ARE A COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISASTER, MUST END, NOW!!!"

In Michigan, new surveillance footage obtained by Click on Detroit shows Hamtramck City Councilman Abu Musa, a Democrat, allegedly stuffing ballots into a dropbox, prompting an active criminal investigation by Michigan State Police.

This follows prior investigations into council members Mohammed Hassan, Muhtasin Rahman Sadman, Mohammed Al-Somiri, and former member Nayeem Choudhury for election fraud related to the 2023 race.

Mail-in ballots and these faulty voting machines have been a breeding ground for fraud, and the Democrats know it.

The Michigan video proves it—caught red-handed.

The left will fight tooth and nail, but Trump’s executive order could be the sledgehammer we need to smash this corruption—legal challenges or not.

Will President Trump’s bold plan to overhaul the electoral system hold up, or will it face the same judicial hurdles as his past orders?

The answer could reshape American democracy as we know it. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
