President Donald Trump has unveiled ambitious plans to erect a "Arc de Trump" opposite the Lincoln Memorial, marking the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026.

Funded privately by supporters, the monument, inspired by Paris’s Arc de Triomphe, aims to greet visitors crossing the Memorial Bridge from Arlington National Cemetery.

Renderings debuted during an Oval Office meeting last week, showcasing Trump’s vision for a transformed capital.

Trump, a real estate developer by trade, shared his enthusiasm Wednesday night with donors.

"Every time somebody rides over that beautiful bridge to the Lincoln Memorial, they literally say something is supposed be here. We have versions of it… This is a mock-up," he said, pointing to a grassy area at the bridge’s end.

At a ballroom unveiling dinner, he added, "There were three version of the arch - small, medium and large - but that I liked the largest one the best."

The $250 million ballroom project, fully financed, will partially fund the arch.

Additional second-term projects include a gilded White House makeover, a paved Rose Garden, and a "Presidential Walk of Fame" along the West Wing, featuring gold-framed portraits — replacing Joe Biden’s headshot with an autopen-signed image.

Trump has showcased these changes to world leaders and displayed models on the Resolute Desk, including a Lincoln Memorial replica.

Architect Nicolas Leo Charbonneau of Harrison Design proposed the arch, posting a watercolor rendering on September 4 with the caption, "America needs a triumphal arch!"

Critics, including a New York Times essayist, labeled the Oval Office remodel a "Gilded Rococo Nightmare."

Construction timelines and full costs remain unclear.

Trump’s plans also involve clearing homeless encampments, aligning with his Mar-a-Lago aesthetic.

Love it or loathe it, Trump’s shaping history, brick by brick.
