WATCH: ICE Agents Swarm Car of White House Press Sec’s Nephew’s Mother in Dramatic Arrest

Dramatic surveillance video has surfaced showing federal immigration agents arresting the Brazilian mother of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s 11-year-old nephew in a Massachusetts parking lot last month.

The footage, first obtained by TMZ, captures the November 12 arrest of Bruna Caroline Ferreira, the ex-partner of Leavitt’s brother Michael Leavitt Sr. and the mother of his son Michael Jr.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., Ferreira’s silver Honda Civic is seen attempting to leave her condominium complex in Revere, Massachusetts, when five unmarked SUVs suddenly block her path.

Plainclothes agents wearing face masks exit the vehicles, place Ferreira in handcuffs, and drive her away in one of the SUVs.

A separate individual is seen driving off in Ferreira’s car.

A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson confirmed the arrest, stating, "She entered the U.S. on a B2 tourist visa that required her to depart the U.S. by June 6, 1999."

The spokesperson described Ferreira as "a criminal illegal alien from Brazil” who “has a previous arrest for battery."

The statement added: "Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, all individuals unlawfully present in the United States are subject to deportation."

Ferreira remains detained at the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center and is in removal proceedings.

Her attorney, Todd Pomerleau, called the arrest unlawful and politically motivated.

"I have just been shown a video of my client, Bruna Ferreira, documenting her unlawful arrest by officials who appear to be from ICE. But it is hard to tell because they have masks over their faces and are in unmarked vehicles," Pomerleau said in a full statement to TMZ. "No warrant is shown. Common tactics these days. This is targeted, unconstitutional depravity. A single mother who owns two businesses and was merely awaiting her green card—like tens of thousands of others—now sits in a for-profit prison in Louisiana, stripped from her child right before the holidays.

"Bruna had no problem whatsoever with the Leavitt family. Karoline is her son’s godmother, chosen over her own sister, and Michael Sr. is a very good father. Bruna was en route to pick up her son Michael Jr. after school like she did several days a week. He lived with her till kindergarten, but now awaits for his mother’s warm embrace.

"This is appalling. We look forward to her day in court."

Pomerleau separately noted that Ferreira "literally picked Karoline to be the godmother of Michael Jr. over her own sister" and that his client is "quite proud of her for achieving her dreams" in the Trump administration.

Michael Leavitt Sr. has yet to comment beyond earlier statements prioritizing his son’s privacy.

The White House press secretary’s family is entangled in the very immigration crackdown her administration is aggressively pushing— in the age of mass deportation, no one, not even the mother of the press secretary’s nephew, is beyond the long arm of ICE.
