Prince William Set to Banish prince Andrew

Prince William, the heir to the British throne, has big plans for when he becomes king, and they don’t include his disgraced uncle, Prince Andrew. According to royal experts, the future monarch is determined to keep Andrew out of royal life for good, a move that’s been brewing behind palace doors for years.

With King Charles III battling cancer and Andrew’s scandals still casting a shadow, William’s stance is making waves just as the royal family navigates a tough chapter.

On May 28, 2025, Fox News published a report citing royal experts who say Prince William, now 42, is ready to “banish” Prince Andrew from royal duties when he takes the throne.

Prince Andrew’s association with Jeffrey Epstein has caused immense animosity within the Royal Family

Andrew, 64, stepped back from public roles in November 2019 after backlash over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, and has been called “toxic” by royal sources, per a 2020 Fox Business report.

William has been vocal about the “Andrew problem,” with experts noting his “strained and distant relationship” with his uncle.

“William has long had a strained and distant relationship with Andrew,” British royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News, pointing to a “grudge against his disgraced uncle.”

The reasons are clear. Andrew’s association with Epstein, including a 2011 New York Post headline dubbing him “PRINCE & PERV,” has humiliated the royal family, especially after a disastrous BBC News interview in 2019 that one source called a “car crash.”

William, who’s taken on more duties since King Charles’ cancer diagnosis in February 2024, is set on protecting the monarchy’s image.

“William has been a strong voice in managing ‘the Andrew problem’ — he is adamant that there is no way back for his uncle,” royal expert Shannon Felton Spence told Fox News.

Another expert, Christopher Andersen, added:

“William will not entertain anyone toxic to the brand. Andrew will not be part of the streamlined monarchy.”

It’s not just William pushing Andrew out. King Charles, despite a “softer approach” to his brother, is reportedly “fed up” with the issue, per royal biographer Andrew Lownie.

“King Charles is said to be fed up with ‘the Andrew problem,’ although he has a softer approach to his brother as he is family,” Lownie said.

But William’s resolve is firm. “Andrew’s future within the royal family is beyond bleak, since Prince William is firmly opposed to any public rehabilitation with no foreseeable path back,” Fordwich noted.

For now, Andrew is holed up at Royal Lodge, a property he’s clung to with a 75-year lease, spending time with his daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, according to royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams.

This family drama isn’t new, but with William’s ascension looming, the stakes feel higher. “If there is one person Prince Andrew should be worried about, it is his nephew, the future king,” Fordwich said. As of today, the royal family’s future looks like it’ll be Andrew-free—at least if William has his way.
