What Is Ultra Right?

comment-1 Created with Sketch Beta.

According to YouGov, 12% of American adults are “very conservative”—a group many would call the “Ultra Right”.

Also, 30% of alcohol drinkers say that beer is their favorite drink. While this connection may sound a bit random, we promise they have something to do with each other. Let us explain why the ultra-right and beer are best of friends.

What Is Ultra Right?

You might be surprised to find out that the “Ultra Right” is a conservative beer brand and also the far side of the right-wing political spectrum. Most mainstream corporations bend the knee to woke culture and to the leftists, but the ultra-right-wingers and the Ultra Right beer do not.

Before we crack open a cold one, let’s dive into what “ultra-right” means in both politics and culture.

Is Ultra Right a Usual Term in Politics?

Ultra Right has started to mean the beer. It's not a usual term to talk about the most uncompromising right. In any case, MAGA or alt-right are more generally accepted terms to describe groups on the right-wing spectrum. For their part, legacy media usually talk about the “far right” or “hard right.” Ulta-right or ultra right are not so common terms. But yes, there are some samples of it showing up over the years (sometimes to talk about Trump, sometimes to talk about Italian soccer fans!) So this is what ultra-right means in politics.

What Is Ultra Right in Politics?

In politics, the “ultra-right” is the far-right wing of the political spectrum, which is very conservative and has very nationalistic views. Unlike moderates or mainstream Republicans, the ultra-right are extra fierce anti-communist, anti-socialist, anti-globalist and—it goes without saying—absolutely anti-woke. These are some of the core beliefs that the ultra-right uphold:

  • Anti-globalism: The ultra-right strongly opposes international influence that diminishes national sovereignty and favors protectionism. The ultra-right sees that globalism and neo-liberalism go hand in hand, benefiting the elites. They are tired of this agenda eroding American independence, self-sufficiency, and identity.
  • Anti-immigration: Conservatives and ultra-right-wingers alike recognize that immigration, especially illegal immigration, threatens American jobs, culture, security, and governance. The ultra-right supports strong borders (they went crazy for Trump’s wall) and policies that restrict illegal immigration.
  • Ultranationalism: The ultra-right is extremely patriotic. They are proud of being American and are not afraid to show it. For them, the Constitution, the flag, and American traditions are sacred.
  • Religious and anti-woke: For the ultra-right, faith and family values are the foundation of a moral and ordered society. They believe and defend God’s vision of the family: a husband, a wife, and children. Without God and family as its pillars, society crumbles. The ultra-right relentlessly pushes back against wokeism, woke culture, and identity politics that erode the stability (and sanity) of American society.

Many conservatives share these values, but the ultra-right take them one step further—sometimes to extremes. Ultra right-wing groups are known for populist rhetoric, intense “us vs. them” sentiments, and controversial political expression. They are more authoritarian, which can be a point of disagreement for conservatives who have a different concept of national freedom. So while conservatives and the ultra-right may not always see eye to eye, they agree on the important things: defending American values.

Interestingly, the ultra-right have also become known for their sarcasm and provocative sense of humor. Many ultra-right-wingers have set foot on platforms like 4chan, Reddit, and X and became viral. Take the Dark MAGA movement for example, the ultra-right took a hilarious take on Musk and Trump during the elections, which unintentionally made the campaign even stronger.

The ultra-right use memes, satire, and Photoshop to take aim at the left. Want to know one of their latest comedy weapon? Beer.

What Is Ultra Right Beer?

The ultra-right’s favorite drink is Ultra Right Beer—also known as Conservative Dad’s Ultra Right Beer—the patriotic, American-themed beer brand that proudly promotes conservative values.

It was launched on April 12, 2023, and exploded in popularity after releasing a viral 58-second ad in response to Bud Light’s partnership with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney. In the now-infamous clip, Ultra Right CEO Seth Weathers smashes a Bud Light can with a baseball bat and declares:

America’s been drinking beer from a company that doesn’t even know which restroom to use. That’s why I created Conservative Dad's Ultra Right Beer, 100% woke-free beer.

You have to see it (or taste it?) to believe it. It may be one of the most overt and unapologetic political standpoint declarations of any conservative company today. The video was an instant smash hit. In the comments, conservatives rallied around, while leftists were outraged and sent death threats.

What started as a parodic gimmick turned into a real beer brand. Conservative Dad’s expanded to create more politically-charged satirical products. It released a limited edition can showcasing President Trump's fist pump after nearly being assassinated. Within 12 hours of its release, it raked in $500,000. Eventually, it surpassed $1 million in sales, out of which $25,000 was donated to the Trump campaign.

“A portion of all sales is donated to conservative causes that are unafraid to stand up and fight for our values,” the brand states on its webpage. “This is not only a great beer company, it's a movement!”

However, not everything is going smoothly for the beer brand.

What Happened to Ultra Right Beer?

Ultra Right Beer has faced numerous challenges like delivery issues, regulatory setbacks, customer service problems, and a trademark dispute with Anheuser-Busch. Here's a more detailed breakdown of the issues:

  • Customer Service Issues: Some customers reported never receiving their orders. This led to complaints with the Better Business Bureau, which later hit the brand with an “F” rating.
  • Trademark Dispute: Bud Light, whose reputation bombed after Ultra Right’s massive blow, got its parent company, Anheuser-Busch, to file a legal complaint claiming that Ultra Right beer caused confusion with their “Michelob Ultra” brand. In short, Bud Light acted like a baby.
  • Regulatory Hurdles: The company had issues with supply, laws, and regulations. Ultra Right beer struggled to keep up with the demand and each state’s alcohol laws and federal legislation. This was especially hectic because they had taken orders before the beer was even made.

Who Owns Ultra Right Beer?

The man behind the brand is Seth Weathers, the owner, founder, and CEO of Ultra Right Beer. He became a conservative at age 14, when he read Ronald Reagan’s autobiography. Ever since, has been a conservative advocate. He became involved in National and State politics as a consultant and lead strategist before scoring big with the Conservative Dad’s alcohol business.

He states he is committed to giving back to the conservative community and supporting right-leaning causes. Weathers is fed up with corporations funding left-wing causes and fattening up elites’ wallets. His aim with the Conservative Dad's brand is to do the opposite and align with the values of conservative consumers.

I've been committed to the cause for a long time. That's what gives me the passion behind the company, because I love knowing that we're actually making changes and we're emboldening conservatives, too.

Conservative Dad's is not a company without its flaws, but it’s refreshing (pun intended) to see brands fight for real American values for a change.
