Leftists' Latest Game: What is "Woke Right"?

comment-1 Created with Sketch Beta.

The “woke right” is a term coined by the famous right-wing commentator and intellectual James Lindsay. According to Lindsay, the term “woke right” is used to describe a fringe group on the right side of politics who are Christian nationalists and who believe they are oppressed by the ruling class. Here's a Venn diagram someone put together to help you understand where they are coming from. Is this painfully self-aware, or a grand exaggeration?

As you can see, the woke left and the woke right are said to mirror each other. James Lindsey, in an interview with the British guys from YouTube, described the behavior of the woke right as the same as the behavior of the woke left. He cited things like reactionary identity politics and white men believing that they are oppressed.

Lindsey accuses people on the woke right as gatekeepers, engaging in cancel culture and lying about history. He also suggests that they pick more fights with their own side than the left, and they are critical of America. This new label is more than a petty insult. It’s a strategic move to blame the right for addressing the issues that actual woke leftists turn a blind eye to.

Who is “Woke Right”?

The so-called “woke right” coinage targets younger conservatives, populists, and nationalists who dare to challenge the official narrative or speak out against America’s cultural decline. Anyone who questions Jewish power and America's support for Israel is characterized as woke right. From opposing endless foreign wars to defending traditional values, these voices are gaining influence, and the establishment doesn't like it.

Some examples of the so called “woke right” individuals are Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, Elijah Schaffer, the Groypers, Darryl Cooper – basically anyone who has questioned the official narrative of WWII and doesn't support Israel.

The “Woke Right”: A Smear Tactic to Dismantle Conservatism

So what do these leftists do? Try to divide the Republican movement from within by labeling the most assertive parts of the right as “woke.” It’s a label invented by those losing the argument, desperate to muddy the waters and extend their control over American lives.

Conservatives have been successful at exposing how deranged leftists’ extremist ideologies are with the label “woke left”. The same people who pushed drag shows for children, critical race theory in schools, and open borders are now accusing the right of being “woke” when it pushes back. Pitiful: with their pride wounded and hurt, the best they can come up with is this retaliatory jab. Like children fighting on the playground, really.

At its core, the “woke right” stunt is a distraction, or a way to shift public focus from skyrocketing inflation, the immigration crisis, and the decay of our constitutional freedoms. The mainstream media and politicians would rather play games and steal our words than answer tough questions about the well-being of the United States. Conservatives should reject this framing outright.

The right isn’t “woke”, but rather awake. The American people won’t be fooled.
